It’s unethical to refer to ABA therapy as an “evidence-based approach” without providing further context. Torturing your child to increase behaviors you like and decrease behaviors you dislike may be efficacious in some way but that doesn’t mean it’s not abusive.
It’s frustrating to see shit like this from #NPR. As I’ve complained with other news orgs on autism topics, there’s not even the slightest attempt to talk to actual autistic people about our perspectives on the subject of an “autism cure.”
