For the first time in ages did some climbing again last night, specifically visited a boulder hall in Aachen with @xayomer@toot.kif.rocks and @SillyDemon@fedi.eepycats.place.
Conclusion number 1: This might have been the first time in a womens’ group changing room, which I only noticed after I had walked in. slightly weird feeling, but it was okay, especially since I was chaning from a dress into a skirt that I could easily put on before taking the dress of (wide circle dresses are great and all).
Conclusion number 2: I have quite a bit of strength, but not a lot of depth behind it. Aka: After half an hour or so I dropped from a line not because of technique or exhaustion, but because the muscles in my arms simply couldn’t put up the grip strength anymore.
Conclusion number 3: My other muscles started running out of steam as well shortly after, even though my cardio was still fine.
Conclusion number 4: When we did a little bit of grappling at the very end when pretty much everyone else had left (very soft mats after all 😉). And while @xayomer@toot.kif.rocks and @SillyDemon@SillyDemon@blahaj.zone@fedi.eepycats.place had some chance in a two on one fight, but one-on-one these were quite rapid wins on my end.
Conclusion number 5: Watching the two grapple against each other did show me that I had a much better eye for technique than I kinda expected, because I kept noticing openings and things I would have gone for that the two did not pursue in a recognizable manner. I guess all those years of Judo did leave some traces after all…

@airtower@woem.men I mean, you are probably one of the most privacy-concerned people here on Fedi, and despite that I’ve by this point met multiple people who have met you in person. (And by extension vice-versa.) So no contact at all is at least a notable sign… But on the other hand CCC really facilitates that even between non-members, since people in central European IT are likely to have contacts in that scene, which may nowhere near as much be the case in other places… 🤔

My first step (if allowed by executive dysfunction) would probably be to contact someone high up in the Debian project, just making sure that they are aware of it. And, in any case, and sorry if this is blunt, ensure that the bus-factor of that knowledge is > 1.

@statsguy@mas.to The best and most plausible explanation I have heard is that they want to get the situation in the middle east out of the news so desperately, that they’d rather deal with the Epstein files again, since most of their base doesn’t really care.

The salary of politicians should be computed as a constant factor of:
(i_{0.5} + i_{0.4} + i_{0.3}+ i_{0.2} + i_{0.1}+i_{\text{min}})\times(1-u)
where u is the unemployment rate and i_x is the x-quantile income¹; i_{\text{min}} being the lowest income anyone is legally getting paid².
This would create a direct monetary incentive to maximize income of the low-income half of the population and reduce unemployment. And then just flat out ban any other income; if they want to work something on the side or have book-deals, or whatever, just tax that with a flat 100%.
¹ It might make sense to use per-person household income here, but the unemployment factor is kinda taking care of the “lowering the employment base” as well, so just going with regular jobs might be fine as well.
² With a good minimum wage this is going to be the same as several of the previous ones, but if you insist on making exceptions to that for internships or “workshops for disabled people”, they get basically nothing here.
