That's got to be a war crime right there. Sure, a few civilian casualties are inevitable in a full-on shooting war, but they have to be proportionate to military aims.

A ratio like that is not remotely proportionate.

And on the conflicting accounts of how the plane crashed, with the US saying it was an accident and Iran saying they shot it down, I don't think we can have any idea which narrative is correct. Both regimes are habitual liars. No way to tell which one is lying here.

I don't think the UK media have made nearly enough noise about the US Navy sinking an *unarmed* Iranian warship and then, in clear violation of the Geneva Conventions, leaving them to drown. OMG, now it turns out that the IRIS Dena, the frigate torpedoed by the US Navy with the loss of most of its crew, may have been *unarmed* at the time.

If true, that must surely make it a war crime. Especially as the US Navy made no attempt to rescue the drowning sailors.

(And why are we having to read about this in the Indian press? Where are the UK media on this one?)

One thing that makes me very happy about the Gorton & Denton by-election result is it shows that claiming you have to vote tactically for Labour if you want to keep Reform out is bollocks. This was one of the safest Labour seats in the country, and the Greens still won it.

If you want to keep Reform out, then the message is clear: vote Green. That way you even get a party with policies that are different from Reform.

I've had an email from Octopus Energy telling me that because of dramatic falls in wholesale electricity prices, they sadly have no choice but to reluctantly reduce the price they are paying me for the electricity I export from my solar panels.

Weirdly, they seem very much to have the choice not to reduce the price of the electricity that they sell to me.

Isn't it funny how that works?

It seems to me that we have learned 2 things from the portions of the #EpsteinFiles that have been released so far:

1. There are a number of rich and powerful people who, for whatever reason, enjoy abusing children and young women, and believe that because they are rich and powerful, they system will protect them and they will face no consequences

2. With the sole exceptions of Epstein himself and his girlfriend Maxwell, they are right about that belief
