Here in the U.K., people in Gorton and Denton went to bed last night thinking they had voted Green to keep Reform out in a local by-election and woke up to find they had actually produced a seismic, irreversible shift in U.K. politics, joined a sectarian Islamist and woke cult and ushered in the extreme left. #UKPolitics #GortonAndDenton

In the Gorton and Denton by election in the U.K., Reform got 10,000 votes, while Green and Labour got 25,000 between them. That means that any way the votes would have fallen between Green and Labour,

In the Gorton and Denton by election in the U.K. the Greens won comfortably. But if Labour had let Andy Burnham stand he would have also won comfortably. This fact should stop the Greens getting too overexcited about the strength of their victory, but, somehow, I don't think it will. #UKPolitics #GortonAndDenton

In the Gorton and Denton by election in the U.K. the further right Advance UK also stood. They got 155 votes, lost their deposit, and finished behind Sir-Oink-A-Lot of the Monster Raving Loony Party. This will be some consolation to Reform. Their far right policies are so far right that the far right can't get a look in. #UKPolitics #GortonAndDenton

As charming as ever, Matt Goodwin of Reform conceded defeat in the Gorton and Denton by election by describing the Green Party victory as "a coalition of Islamists and woke progressives that came together to dominate the constituency”. The best start to a Friday…#GreenParty ‘s Hannah Spencer wins #GortonAndDenton byelection…and pushes #Labour who had had a comfortable majority there into third place. “Rather than winning narrowly, the [Green party] won 40.7%, enough to put them as much as 12 points ahead of second placed #Reform. It represented as much as a 27.5 point increase on the party’s share in 2024. Labour, who had not hitherto lost an election in the area since 1931, fell into third place.” Professor Sir John Curtice

This was a very high profile by-election. It is probable that ReformUK pretty much got their entire vote out. Labour and The Greens together got 66% of the vote. This shows us that the country does not want toxic ReformUK. I think it's a simple as that. #gortonanddenton #labour #ReformUK #thegreens
