Back in the 70s Nixon threatened to cut off grain supplies. Now, Qatar LNG is the wrong side of the straits of Hormuz, Trump US LNG is vital for the UK. If the war doesn't stop soon, Europe will run out. While we all love jolly jokey #Polanski and his new lovely assistant promising no more sleaze, I am still a bit frightened of past claims he can increase women’s breast sizes with his mind. The only #greenparty policy I can really get behind is rejoining the #EU - that way we might get a few grown ups running the show #energySecurity

The best start to a Friday…#GreenParty ‘s Hannah Spencer wins #GortonAndDenton byelection…and pushes #Labour who had had a comfortable majority there into third place. “Rather than winning narrowly, the [Green party] won 40.7%, enough to put them as much as 12 points ahead of second placed #Reform. It represented as much as a 27.5 point increase on the party’s share in 2024. Labour, who had not hitherto lost an election in the area since 1931, fell into third place.” Professor Sir John Curtice

Whether or not you like the greens, it's such a relief and a good sign for the future that when people turned against Labour, the majority chose to back the Greens over Reform. Farage pulled the old "the election was stolen" straight from the fascist orange turd's playbook. The #Toryscum who only achieved 706 votes cheered that Starmer has "killed Labour". Lack of introspection, somewhat ;) Huge relief that the Trump-like UK Fash had their tiny dicks clipped. Totally deserved upwards punch to Starmer for his dictator-style treatment of Andy Burnham and Labour voters. There IS an alternative to Labour - and it's NOT Reform.
