The Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract for the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (built for ~£180 million in 2003) is expected to cost NHS Lothian roughly £1.1 billion to £1.26 billion in total repayments by the time the main contract expires in 2027. Even that is not the full cost, as a buy-back clause comes into effect, where another fee has to be agreed to transfer the hospital into public hands.
The people are being robbed blind. Labour has been a disaster for Scotland.

A post I found on another social media site that is worth sharing.
An interviewer is shocked when an applicant replies to a question on why they want the job, “to be transparent, it's for the money”.
The interview is binned.
Someone replies, "That's why we want any job. It's for the money so we can eat food and have a roof over our head. Your company isn't special or some amazing thing. It's a fucking job. Get over yourself."

So Israel and the US have started an illegal war against Iran. How many countries have the US and Israel bombed recently? Yet Donald Trump cried because he wasn't being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and Israel bombs their neighbours yet plays the victim card.

Donald Trump is a bad loser. Yet, he should be well used to it. Lost elections, bankrupt companies, including a casino business where Trump filed for bankruptcy 4 times, failed marriages, not getting his longed-for Nobel Peace Prize, caught fiddling cancer charity funds, all the lawsuits he has lost or had to settle out of court, his failed University... I could keep going.
The idea that he is a winner, knows all about business and is an expert on every subject, is for the birds.

Staggering how quickly the press moves on. It seems that Trump's social media post featuring the Obamas as monkeys been forgotten. His mocking of a disabled man doesn't matter. His nonsense about serving in Vietnam when we all know he avoided the draft is yesterday's news. Biggest of all, large sections of the press don't want to talk about Trump and his best buddy, Jeffrey Epstein.
Those with vast wealth who own politicians and the press aren't on the side of ordinary folk.

Israel has killed more journalists in Gaza than all the journalists killed in the US Civil War, the Great War, World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, as well as the wars in Cambodia, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
This is shocking, but what seems just as bad is that they do this, along with all the other war crimes they commit, with the full support of the governments in the US, the UK, and many others.

Zack Polanski of the Greens tells us that water should be nationalised. I don't disagree, but he needs to break free from the compulsion to present English stories as UK stories, something the main English parties do all the time. Some information for Zack, the other main parties in England and the press, Scotland's water and sewerage services are already publicly owned.
