… the materialist trajectory of The West over the last half-millennium.
TBH this is one of my central theses, deriving from the convergence of my family’s conversion to Orthodoxy, with the aftermath of my five-year Intentionality study.
The idea was sparked upon reading From Dawn to Decadence by Jacques Barzun. It wrapped up around the end of the Cold War, with very little said about what followed. Obviously, considering its publication date.
I find myself uniquely positioned to speak into that era.
