It's fun to lose followers over a dark story on medium, but not all bad. My first dark story on a not unrelated theme was rejected 20+ times at journals--mostly literary journals as opposed to traditional horror as it was more "literary"--until I found the right submission theme of a certain journal and a simpatico editor. I don't think medium is the place for a lot of kinds of writing. But I know sometimes my type of story is niche. It is a draft and I've begun another, but not less dark.
