Only answer if you have direct and personal experience please. Is there ANY way on IOS (NOT ON ANDROID) to get Signal to help you clean its massive storage? I've manually tried to delete some large things but it is not helping. It is using 11GB and I can't do a thing anymore. Help?

Tempted to write a post that software development lost the plot a long time ago, and that the recent LLM developments are merely the icing on that cake. Software these days is not the painstaking work by people like @bagder@mastodon.social or @hyc@mastodon.social or @vitaut@mastodon.social who write the best code they possibly can. Over the past decade, "the software world" has been developing in a very different way than that.

Hot on the heels of this, @bpreneel@infosec.exchange & @CosicBe@mastodon.social team have analysed the Microsoft PhotoDNA technology that is often suggested for flagging CSAM material through mass scanning. Stole this idea from @daedalus@eigenmagic.net - the cloud is the new mainframe. Since then we had a few decades of hardware and software portability. And we are now back at "pick a cloud vendor and lock yourself in".

I have to double check but I think this is the first data from new #galileo satellite E32. Galileo is the EU equivalent of GPS. Something that seemed silly 20 years ago. And now Europe has its own autonomous navigation system!

Dutch parliament has just moved that government must verify what happens when "the cloud" fails & report what vital systems stop working. And also, deliver a plan how to remedy these dependencies.

Electricity friends, the day ahead data for the Netherlands over at ENTSO-E is no longer reliable (for shame), I'd like to change https://berthub.eu/nlelec over to a more direct source, like EPEX Spot, but I'm a bit lost - is the API expensive? Should I scrape HTML? Any hints what the easiest way would be to get 15 minute DA pricing from them? Thanks!

So out of the blue I got a request for access to a 10 year old Google Docs file. This request also came from someone who actually might be interested in that file, so I contacted him. Turns out he was making **exercise schedules** and had asked Google Gemini for help, and Gemini decided it needed access to my document on a new government law (from 2015). So be careful out there!
