I've been reading up on fedi migration for a few weeks. As I understand it, it's non-trivial and "off book" to import old posts. So I'm doing the migration that will leave old posts here at floss.social.

The migration is now in progress; the instructions say wait a bit at the step I'm at now, so I'm waiting.

So, like, I know this is an ancient meme, & is also a distance third or fourth on the list of “well-known Christopher Walken memes”, but for years now, *every time* someone (including myself) uses the phrase “Good for you”, I hear Chrisopher Walken saying in my head:

I kinda try avoid saying the phrase myself anymore because I can't help but say all three line reads in a row regardless of the situation.

@robin@social.riley.pub my mother was almost literally first in line to get that surgery when it became available & it did not work. She not only still needed corrective lenses but the doctor recommended she not wear contact lenses anymore (although she did sometimes anyway).

While this was decades ago and I'm sure the procedures are better, I still won't for anecdotal reasons.

All surgery has risks & a small percentage of failure rates.

IMO,it's OK to be arbitrary in risk analysis for elective surgery.

Today, @richardfontana@mastodon.social & I restarted, relaunched, & revitalized copyleft-next.

All versions & variants of #GPL are great licenses. But, today, #GPLv3 turned 18 years old & #GPLv2 turned 34 years old.

At least once in a generation, #FOSS needs a new approach to strong #copyleft.

@robin@social.riley.pub I'm sure you probably can't say publicly, but why does it *have* to be a California firm? IIUC, almost all accounting field certifications are national.

The CPA (auditor) I've worked with for years would surely have a list of good recs,, but they'd probably be NY-based.

I think you & I are talking on another matter next week, so remind me when we do that you have this question pending.
