One of the main motivations to upgrade my home server was to give Immich a try. I’ve just finished setting it up and have pointed it at my 100GB/40,000 photo library.

Many years back when I quit reading news, Pocket was instrumental in the decision. I forced myself to
a) add articles to Pocket before reading them
b) sort Pocket chronologically and read the old stuff first
This made me realise about 95% of what I was saving was ephemeral nonsense, so I quit news and deleted Pocket.
It has been great, but left me with a gap of what to do with that 5% of “good” articles. Mostly I’ve either been reading them immediately, leaving them in browser tabs for months, or ignoring them. That’s a bit suboptimal, so I’m giving wallbag a go.
For some reason I really hate the name, but it seems to work pretty well.

If you’re on iOS and are a #selfhosting (or a just a Linux) nerd, the iSH app is pretty great.
It’s a tiny Alpine Linux install that lets you install packages. I’ve been SSH’d to my home server from my phone all day, keeping an eye on an exceptionally long running rsync job.

I think I still like Ice Cubes more in general, but there's one thing that bugs the hell out of me which is that the notifications don't seem to stay read. The icloud timeline sync on Mona is pretty cool (when it works), too.
