Initial release done for the Sisyphus server, had to do it manually for the time being which is slightly annoying. I'll deal with the pipeline much later. Posted AMD64 and ARM64 binaries for Windows, Linux, And macOS. Got a lot done over the last few days, now time to relax...lol https://git.jamesthebard.net/jweatherly/sisyphus-server-golang/releases #golang #sisyphus

So, got the server in place but discovered that the Docker image that I created that has the Sisyphus client and all of the binaries like `ffmpeg`, `av1an` was not very happy. Ffmpeg crashed because it couldn't find the `libSvtAvcEnc.so.4` library which was because I had a custom version of it installed (`svt-av1-psyex`). Got the Dockerfile fixed by installing `svt-av1-psyex` and then compiling `ffmpeg` against those libraries, then installing both `svt-av1-psyex` and `ffmpeg` into the final container which makes `ffmpeg` happy. Also saw an issue where the Vapoursynth `lsmash` module wasn't being found, but that got tracked down to a stale Docker image (forgot to pull the latest from the repo). I have two encodes going: one `ffmpeg` and one `av1an` which should be the real final test. If they turn out well, attachments where they're supposed to be, etc., etc. then I'll probably start working on documentation and get this out there. #sisyphus #encoding #av1an #vapoursynth #ffmpeg #svtAv1Psyex

So, decided to get them rookie `/queue` numbers up so did a quick bit of caching. For a 12-job queue, I went from 240 RPS (Python/Flask) to 680 (Golang/Gin) then to 3400 RPS with some proper caching. The `/workers` endpoint would benefit as well, but I think its performant enough though I may end up adding a bit of caching later. #golang #programming #sisyphus #caching #valkey

Work on the Sisyphus server rewrite in #golang has begun, and I forgot how much I enjoyed Gin. All of the `GET` routes have been implemented, and only a few random crashes had to be figured out...next up is the rest of the routes...lol https://git.jamesthebard.net/jweatherly/sisyphus-server-golang #sisyphus #golang #programming

So, ripped my copy of _Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir_ and decided to replay it using `shadPS4`. So far it is an outstanding experience, no issues, and the murder bird is still an absolute joy to play. Granted, not all PS4 games are compatible, but this one looks to be 100% good to go. Definitely a great way to play the game. #shadps4 #emulation #odinSphere

So, just verified that my retirement funds are safe because holy crap these got more expensive than I thought they did. The bottom two are LG WH14NS40 drives that have been upgraded to LG WH16NS60 drives. The platform is the exact same for both models which means a firmware upgrade unlocks a ton of stuff. The portable drive on top is an LG WP50NB40 which has also been upgraded via firmware to an LG BP50NB40 for some extra capabilities. Also annoying things like Riplock have been disabled on all the drives because I literally do not have time for that. #bluray #retirement #iAmRich

Wooo, the new computer chair should be delivered day-after-tomorrow and I'm pretty stoked. The old chair is kinda falling apart, but for a cheap chair it did a great job...however, the "new" Aeron should be a significant upgrade. Also, the rollerblade wheels will be moving from the old Office Depot chair to the new one...

Nerd sniped myself this time: after getting sniped yesterday with showing that for primes `p >= 5` that `24 | p^2 - 1`, I decided to look at primes `p, q` where `p, q >= 5` and see if `24 | p^2 - q^2`.

Okay, the setup is solid now. SCART into the `gscart` switch which splits the output. One goes to the Sony PVM-2530, the other output goes to the RetroTINK 4K. I tried to get the colors to match somewhat on the CRT, but it's a fool's errand to be honest. However, once work is over it'll be time to progress more in FF6. #retrogaming #snes #gscart #retrotink #crt

@Judeau@mas.to Thanks, it's taken a ton of time to get all the parts working together! Honestly, I was streaming FF6 last night and kept seeing all this noise and I was so frustrated because the signal coming out of the SNES should be perfect. Very happy that I tracked it down though.

Took a day to track down an interesting issue: an absolute ton of noise coming out of the `gscart` SCART switch. It was bad going through the RetroTINK 5X and intolerable coming through the RetroTINK 4K. Started with the SNES, swapped out cables and it was still there. Then copied the ROM and save state over to the MiSTer and saw the same exact issue with analog output from the MiSTer. It was weird because the SNES is RGB modded via Voultar's SNESRGB and should have some absolutely pristine RGB out, and the MiSTer should also have some great RGB output via the Saturn RGB output on the back. However, after some fiddling and upgrading the MiSTer: it was the USB power going to the `gscart` switch. I was using the USB outputs on the power strip attached to the AV cart. After moving it to a known quality USB power adapter, the noise was gone. TL,DR: If you have a `gscart` switch, make sure you supply it with some quality power otherwise you're gonna have a bad day. #retrogaming #gscart #scart #snes #mister #crt #retrotink

Went a bit overcomplicated on this one, but eventually got to the right place. Had to remember that when cosine is zero it's periodic every `pi * n` radians, not `2 * pi * n` radians. Also, would've been much easier had I just remembered the relationship between tangent and cotangent...either way, counting this as a win.

Finished prepping the NESessity NES mainboard for the new front loader mechanism. I got lazy when I installed all the components on the NESessity board and maybe didn't clean the flux off as well as I should have. However, since I've gotten open the NES up, figured I'd do a proper 99% isopropyl alcohol bath and a good scrub. The board is looking great, now to wait for the cartridge slot to come in and get it buttoned up again. #retrogaming #nes #frontloader
