Konform Browser 140.9.0-100 has been released!

See release notes for details.

https://codeberg.org/konform-browser/source/releases/tag/140.9.0.100

Besides latest security fixes from #mozilla there is a bunch of updates from #konform #browser. To name a few:

- Reorganized Security Settings with new global configuration for WASM, JIT, WebRTC, WebGPU, Geolocation, DOM Push, etc...

- Security Settings also expose UI for enabling First-Party Isolation (same behavior as Tor Browser) and tweaking Enhanced Tracking Protection.

- Bundled depropped Multi-Account Containers allows configuring per-container proxies and makes container tabs part of core browser experience without having to install telemetry-laden addons.

- Profile Import now supports importing profiles from #firefox and compatible #browsers (#firefox_esr, #floorp, #ironfox, #librewolf, #midori, #palemoon, #waterfox, #zenbrowser)

- Spoofing of Navigator.sendBeacon.

- #privacy improvements and defense-in-depth

- Various bugfixes and minor improvements

Check it out and spread the word ☮️ 🕉️

The Settings GUI in #konform #browser was in need of some love and is now having a refresh. Several new knobs, some shuffling around to make things more cohesive and less scattered, and some edits of hints to hopefully reduce potential for confusion.

New options for:
- First-Party Isolation
- Enhanced #tracking Protection tweaking in Custom mode (useful mostly for FPI users)
- #webrtc and ICE
- #dom Push and its optional network connection
- #jit features
- WebAssembly (#wasm)
- Geolocation
- WebGPU
- Async callstacks support
- Persisting of browser history

Hints and the "advanced" options expand when clicking the "?" for parent option.

Still a bit hesitant on where global toggles for #webgpu and #webgl belong. And perhaps configuration for cross-origin referrer could also move to Browser Privacy controls?

Otherwise feels like things are coming together - What do you think? Anything you're missing or that feels out of place?

@dangoodin @briankrebs Checks out. If anything, it's only scratching the surface. Many (most?) businesses are unknowing accomplices. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47431194

@cyberlyra@hachyderm.io Would love to hear your thoughts on if and how Konform Browser works for your use-case. I think it may be highly relevant for you. In case you're up for a 15th browser on this fine day!

@campuscodi@mastodon.social @briankrebs@infosec.exchange Konform Browser makes all of this disabled by default but makes it easier to selectively enable the features you want - and have them keep working offline.

So you can have your local full-page translations without any telemetry or "AI chatbots" in your face.

I think this makes about:translations useful.
