@NFDI@nfdi.social has participated in the association hearing by @bmftr_bund@social.bund.de regarding the planned Research Data Act (#FDG, #Forschungsdatengesetz). In its statement, NFDI

1. welcomes the establishment of a German Center for Microdata (#DZM),
2. demands standardization of secure processing environments (#SPE) and
3. encourages additional steps towards the more general availability of #metadata.

Discussing how to integrate clinical and research data: Our speaker @bussec@scholar.social presents the key concepts of NFDI4Immuno's data management strategy at the annual #EuroClonalityNGS meeting in #Turin 🇮🇹

The 🇩🇪 @Bundesregierung@social.bund.de has published its "Strategy for International Digital Policy". Naturally, the document is broad and high-level, but p. 10 (3rd paragraph) is noteworthy as it mentions:

1. Aim to promote data infrastructure with open interfaces.
2. Approach of 🇪🇺 #DataSpaces ensures transparency, security, data protection and trust and promotes #FAIR principles.
3. Commitment to #OpenResearchData creates added value for society and economy.

The Standing Committee on #Vaccination (#STIKO) at the @RKI@social.bund.de has published its updated #immunization schedule. Key changes include 1) the switch from the 23-valent polysaccharide to the 20-valent conjugate vaccine for prevention of pneumococcal infections in the elderly and 2) the universal recommendation for the vaccination of infants against serogroup B meningococci (#menB).

Concluding our series on the status of the 🇩🇪 #Digitalstrategie (see previous post @nfdi4immuno@nfdi.social):

Research Data Act (#FDG, #Forschungsdatengesetz) [Page 89; Q73] @bmbf_bund@social.bund.de is evaluating how to address the demands identified in the public consultation conducted 04/2023, there are plans for another round of stakeholder involvement. A final draft of the @Bundesregierung@social.bund.de is scheduled for Q4/2024.

Following up on Monday's post @nfdi4immuno@nfdi.social regarding the status of the #Digitalstrategie:

#DataCompetency in research [Page 62; Q50]: Key measures are DaKoWin (data competency for junior researchers), #RDM measures at Universities for Applied Science (HAWs), a #DALIA knowledge graph project and up to 10 Data Competency Centers (DKZs, start end-2023, duration 3 years). Annual budget is 10.5, 22.5 and 11 MEUR for 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively.
