@griffin30007 @nblr It's a clever but silly-looking "lockout* system that lets you use one AA or one AAA, but without letting you mix different cell sizes at once. So it's actually meant to allow you to use whatever you happen to have on hand instead of needing one specific kind of battery.

Thinking about how all the (older?) e-ink Kindles used the off-the-shelf Adobe RMSDK as the ebook rendering engine, but then Amazon excised the EPUB support out of pure unbridled malice.
Like, EPUB support was free, it was already part of the software, they wouldn't have had to do anything special to support it for manually transferred books

So how does hyperthreading actually work at the hardware level? (I know the general premise) Because it seems like some people (parroting information about presumably the first implementation) claim that each core remains entirely single-threaded and it's solely a trick on OS schedulers (and the pipelining/prefetching circuitry), while other people claim that the majority of each core is duplicated with only the largest circuitry blocks shared between the logical cores?
