Four solid months into my Linux journey, and I had a realization:
I will never need Microsoft Windows again, for anything. I really cannot express how liberating this feels.
It feels like escaping the matrix.

I have a close friend whose 17 year old is headed to college this fall. He got accepted into a computer engineering program.
He's very bright and enthusiastic, but his exposure to computing is alien to me: Roblox and tablets. Never built a PC. Never heard of Linux.
So I have to wonder, what will his generation of computer engineers be like? Will they go on to design and build things we can't dream of? Or is the lack of "computing" in their formative years a setback?
I guess we'll see.

My review of the 80+ hour Fantasian Neo Dimension on @infinitebacklog@mstdn.games
"Spectacular and very worth investing the time to explore it. Despite its relatively minor drawbacks, it feels like a magnum opus of JRPG history; a love letter to the entire genre.
If you have ever enjoyed a Japanese role playing game, or any Final Fantasy game at all, you simply must play Fantasian."

Today I donated a few bucks to an open source project that I have fallen in love with.
I was a bit disheartened after searching around a bit to see many people discussing how they've never donated to an #opensource project, even if they use it daily.
So here's a gentle reminder: We think nothing of spending $20 a month to subscribe to a megacorp, so how about instead you take a minute to donate five bucks to an #OSS project you use and enjoy. If everyone did that, the impact would be huge.
