There ARE real vulnerabilities in some of our election infrastructure, and this is absolutely a problem that we should fix (and on which significant progress has been made). But the mere existence of

The only differences between these claims about 2024 and the claims that the election was stolen from Trump in 2020 are: - The losing candidate isn't amplifying the BS this time. - No one stormed the

There is a great deal of malfeasance seen at the electoral level. Start with the electoral college in and of itself, move onto the myriad ways in which districts are shunted around, grab a heaping helping of dark money and as many nasty schemes as possible to silence or otherwise minimize damage during campaigns, and finish it off with a soupcon of FUD.
The 'voting machine fraud' claims, therefore, fail the most simple and effective test of a conspiracy theory: there are easier, cheaper, more foolproof, and perfectly legal ways to influence an election unduly, all of which are in evidence here in the 2024 election: no such evidence of voting machine tampering has been shown.
Do I think that a given political party would fuck with the voting machines if they could get away with it? Perhaps. But I suspect the Democrats would wind up with someone principled blowing the whistle, and the Republicans are just too stupid to pull something like that and not have it blow up in their face.
