Oh wow - I had no idea the Tokyo Skytree elevators were stuck for 5 hours.
As somebody who was once briefly stuck in a tower elevator - the Guishan TV Tower in Wuhan back when it was still relatively new in 1991 - I can commiserate.

@mattblaze@federate.social Thanks for sharing this - what a ridiculous mission. And the tragedy of sinking a self-warming plutonium device into a giant mountain glacier, especially now with global warming thawing out everything.
That generator will certainly wash up below the glacier in the coming decades and the locals will be lucky if it is still contained.
