Bacon browns.
Grated potato (3 small) & onion (1), excess moisture squeezed out with a linen tea towel. 2 eggs beaten with salt, pepper, 1 tbs flour. Add chopped bacon or ham to potato and onion mix. Toss potato, bacon and onion with egg mix. Fry in veg oil with a knob of butter.
Cold wet weather food.
