I think that unlike Rust, there's a lot of not so strict code written in TypeScript which create non-optimal code when using an LLM model. I wonder if there is a way to fine tune the model to only use known good code bases and if there are enough of those.

After a long break, I've finally published a new blog post. This time about the Chrome DevTools Protocol.

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social I get the feeling but I must say that around me it feels so different. Almost everyone that I know, including my father who's retired is using ChatGPT.
Granted my surroundings are more technical than most but still.

Can't find an HTTP framework for NodeJS that has proper types for middlewares. Are they just not supposed to add data to the request?

It's ridiculous how there is practically no way to get epub files for books in Hebrew, DRMed or not. They all except you to read the book in their proprietary app that is only available in Android and iOS.
Thanks to @orip@shutafem.casa I'm at least able to fetch the actual epub for some stores.

So apparently you can't mutate the class in any way with decorators in TypeScript and there has been an open issue for it for almost a decade. Well, gotta calm down my meta-programming drive.

Two years later, and it still seems that the best documentation for stage 3 decorators in TypeScript is the announcement page. Does anyone know of a good resource about decorators?

So apparently the EventEmitter in NodeJS has a special case for error events? I guess I can see the use case, but it creates a terrible footgun, especially regarding full stack traces.

Why is it so hard to preserve stack traces in JavaScript's callbacks? I get so many exceptions with stack traces that don't help me at all to figure out where in *my* code the error occurred.

@pete@mas.to @andrew@toot.agomes.co thing is, there are malicious actors on the internet. You need to configure the software properly and keep it up to date, but people don't even update their phone which is a few clicks upgrade.

@pete@mas.to @andrew@toot.agomes.co I don't think it's realistic, it takes too much to host properly. Small community servers are possible though.
