Happy Black History Month although black history month is coming to an end, it’s important that we continue to honor the contributions and lived experiences of Black individuals and communities. I want to highlight a black social worker, who has helped shape our profession. Dr. Dorothy I. Height; educator, social worker, and civil rights strategist who understood that service alone was never enough. #BlackHistoryMonth 🤎✨

RE: https://mastodon.social/@ashleyyrain/116049186331297681 this is probably one of my most reshared posts on mastodon. I’m truly in awe because posts like this, oftentimes, come with a significant amount of self-reflection. some of which people are either willing to do, or not be so keen on. I’m glad more people are showing up and truly taking time to think about what it means to possibly walk in someone else’s shoes and consider how their experiences vastly differ from someone else’s, simply because of bigotry and hate. #blackhistorymonth
