I was intrigued by Rivian; thought I might look seriously at their smaller, more affordable SUV for those situations when i want more ruggedness than my Bolt delivers (for snow; logging roads in the Superior National Forest—use cases for 1 percent of my miles). @GreenFire@mstdn.social I’ll add: In USA gas was dirt cheap yesterday, & has been since the supply pinch of the post-Covid recovery. That will change very soon. But with recent cheap gas, there are killer deals out there now on lightly used EVs. It’s a great time to make the switch & stop funding the #OilyBoys. Especially if one can charge at home. My EV fuel costs <2 cents per mile when I home charge off-peak (which is 95 percent of the time). #EV #EVs #OilWar #GasPrices #NoMoreOilWars

I think the Supercharger network is dying. I’ve been driving EVs for over a decade. Getting a Tesla was revolutionary for my travel because of the extreme reliability of always being able to charge whenever and wherever I was traveling. I didn’t encounter a single dead charging stall for years. On this trip from San Diego to Missouri, there has been at least one dead stall at every single stop I’ve made. Like it or not, EVs as a mode of transportation will completely fail and disappear except for regions like the west coast if the Supercharger network falls into disrepair. It needs to be its own company. #Tesla #EVs
