#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has provided internal correspondence relating to a YouTube documentary on changes to the W12 and W14 bus routes. The correspondence, covering March 2025 to present, involves staff, management, bus operators, local councils, and external stakeholders. The video, which highlights the impact of route changes on the elderly, disabled people, and school children, prompted discussions within TfL about service adjustments. Some personal data has been redacted under data protection rules. The release confirms the information exists and is now available, with sensitive details removed in line with #UK GDPR and the FOI Act. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4315-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a Freedom of Information request about the Silvertown Tunnel Cycle Shuttle, a free service launched on 7 April 2025 to help cyclists cross the Thames. TfL said thousands have used the shuttle, but it does not record month-by-month usage. Instead, it carries out week-long counts at different times of the year as part of its monitoring approach. These figures are published in quarterly reports to the Silvertown Tunnel Implementation Group. TfL said the service is still relatively new and marketing campaigns are continuing to raise awareness, with the expectation that usage will grow as more cyclists learn about it. In response to questions on costs, TfL said it awarded a £1,967,010 contract to Stagecoach to operate the bus service for three years. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4374-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: 🟣 #TfL has published details of organisations responsible for station operations and passenger assistance across the Elizabeth line following a Freedom of Information request. Most stations are managed by GTS Rail Operations, which also handles communication about passengers requiring assistance and provides physical assistance services. Some stations are run by other organisations. Central stations including Whitechapel, Liverpool Street (Elizabeth line), Farringdon, Tottenham Court Road and Bond Street are managed by London Underground. London Underground provides assistance across the station, while GTS staff assist on Elizabeth line platforms. National Rail stations such as Liverpool Street and Paddington are managed by Network Rail. Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford are run by Great Western Railway, Shenfield by Greater Anglia, and Heathrow stations by Heathrow Airport Limited. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4329-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has provided its Uniform Specification in response to a FOI request. The guide details uniform requirements for staff and concession employees, including refreshed designs incorporating a new blue colour for visibility. Core principles emphasise professionalism, inclusivity with mixed sizing options, special measures for medical or faith needs, and sustainability via recycling of returned items. Must-wear items include shirts, trousers or skirts, shoes, and badges, with optional layers, outerwear, and accessories. Uniforms must be clean, worn correctly, and maintained according to care guidelines to ensure safety and professional presentation. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4318-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a request for the Limehouse Station lease plan. TfL confirmed it does not hold a full lease plan, as the land is not owned by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Only the DLR viaduct structure, including piers, columns, concrete islands, and foundations, is included in the 200-year lease from Network Rail dated 30 April 1987. TfL provided a plan showing DLR-owned structures in turquoise and areas owned by TfL in green. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4337-2526

🚶🛍️🏗️ The Mayor of #London, Sadiq Khan, has confirmed plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street by the end of the summer, following a second public consultation that drew more than 2,700 responses. #TfL will begin work to remove traffic from the stretch, with access maintained for emergency and overnight servicing vehicles. Initial design principles include more trees and planting, improved lighting, seating and signage, and space for cultural, sporting and seasonal events from this year. The scheme aims to boost the West End economy and enhance safety, accessibility and sustainability. The Oxford Street Development Corporation, the GLA and TfL will develop detailed designs with businesses, residents and community groups. https://www.london.gov.uk/mayor-confirms-next-steps-make-world-famous-oxford-street-traffic-free-end-summer

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has confirmed it does not employ any train drivers under the age of 20, despite last year’s change lowering the minimum age from 20 to 18 to help tackle staff shortages. In response to a Freedom of Information request, TfL said the youngest train operator currently in post is aged 23. The authority also stated it does not record applicants’ dates of birth at the application stage, meaning it cannot say whether any 18 or 19-year-olds have applied for driver roles. TfL reported that 288 train operator vacancies required filling across 2025. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4063-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: The LGBTQ+ pedestrian lights at Trafalgar Square have been replaced with standard signals as part of TfL’s LED retrofit programme. The upgrade improves energy efficiency and reliability, as LEDs last longer and require less maintenance. #TfL confirmed there is currently no equivalent LED version of the bespoke #LGBTQ designs, so they cannot be reinstated at present. The change has prompted disappointment from some members of the public, who viewed the previous lights as a symbol of London’s inclusivity and celebration of diversity. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-3541-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: 🚇 #TfL has confirmed that a speed restriction on the eastbound Central Line track has been implemented primarily due to noise impact on staff, with passenger exposure being lower. The measure also aims to slow the development of rail corrugation, which can damage both track and trains. While customer feedback is considered, the decision was largely driven by health and safety concerns for staff and operational reasons. The restriction will remain in place until rail grinding can be carried out to reduce noise levels. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4335-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: 💳 #TfL has published updated Out-of-Station Interchange (OSI) usage data for a 28-day period from 14 January to 10 February 2026. No new OSIs have been introduced since the Elizabeth Line opened. The dataset shows passenger volumes between existing OSI pairs and several additional nearby stations, including Bethnal Green to Whitechapel (12,462) and South Hampstead to Swiss Cottage (706). High-traffic interchanges include London Bridge LU/NR (835,409), Liverpool Street LU/NR (673,196), and Victoria LU/NR (over 700,000). Most OSIs support Pay As You Go, with some accommodating magnetic or contactless tickets. #Transport for #London held an eight-week consultation from 21 November 2025 to 16 January 2026 on proposals to pedestrianise Oxford Street West, between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street. Following strong support in a previous consultation, the proposals aim to revitalise the area, improve air quality, and create a high-quality destination while accommodating bus, taxi, and cycle access. The consultation report analysed 2,716 responses, including campaign submissions, and addressed concerns over traffic, accessibility for older and disabled people, and impacts on local businesses. #TfL concludes the proposals are workable, pending Mayor approval. https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/oxford-street-transport-highways/widgets/136421/documents

@localhaze@mastodon.social It looks like street-by-street air-pollution data isn't available just to view. It's not totally clear, but it seems you have to sign up to see the pollution data, but signing up involves putting a sensor on your bike, and they don't accept just anyone; they want geographic dispersion. Long story short: This air-pollution data is not available for Santander sharebike cyclists to view. 😦 #cycling #bike #bicycle #sharebike #BikeHire #Santander #TfL #pollution #AirPollution #AirQuality #health #asthma

Post by Wrightbus on LinkedIn: Wrightbus has launched the StreetDeck Electroliner 2024, the first bus to feature #TfL Bus Safety Standard measures, enhancing safety for pedestrians and cyclists. Developed with experts at the W-Tech Centre, Queen’s University #Belfast, the bus includes a rounded front design to absorb impact, lower windscreens for improved driver visibility, and larger mirrors with camera monitoring to reduce blind spots. Adjustments to the driver’s seat further enhance awareness. Already in operation across #London, these improvements support TfL’s Vision Zero goal to eliminate deaths and serious injuries by 2041, while promoting safer, more sustainable urban travel. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/wrightbus_electroliner-visionzero-wrightbus-activity-7432347413597761538-wY2l

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has disclosed spending on its account on X, formerly #Twitter, following a Freedom of Information request. TfL confirmed it holds the requested information. The applicant asked how much money, excluding labour costs, TfL spent on maintaining its X account in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 #financial years. TfL said it spent £201.60 in each year on a Premium Plus subscription. The organisation confirmed it did not run any paid advertising on X in either year and incurred no additional costs for managing the channel. It added that X is one of several social media platforms used by its team to engage with customers and promote its work. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4171-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has published figures on 60+ Oyster photocard applications, covering 8 December 2024 to 8 December 2025. During that period, 142,674 online applications were processed within two weeks, while 3,378 took longer. For postal applications, 3,114 were completed within six weeks and 33 exceeded that timeframe. TfL said it does not record specific reasons for delays, but applications may be held up if photos or proof of identity do not meet requirements. Postal applications can also involve visiting a Post Office and sending physical documents. TfL said postal applications take longer because they rely on documents being sent and verified by post, which can add several weeks. It said the two-week timeframe refers to delivery once all checks are complete. The fee increase from £20 to £35 follows a decade without rises and reflects higher production, staffing and verification costs. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4175-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has confirmed that its Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) system is supplied by Vix and Trueform, with Telent providing the central back-office system. Some LED signs previously experienced faults, including dimming or unreadable text, but these have been repaired. While Brighton and Hove City Council has reported ongoing display issues over the past three months, TfL cannot confirm if these were the same. Any RTPI issues encountered by TfL have now been resolved, ensuring that information displayed to passengers is accurate and fully operational. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4211-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has published details of the Public Service Contract with London #Underground Limited (LU) following a Freedom of Information request (FOI-4251-2526). The request sought copies of the agreement that expired on 30 November 2024 and the current contract. TfL confirmed it holds the information and provided the relevant documents. The current Agreement for the Provision of Public Passenger Transport Services on the London Underground is dated 4 December 2024 and commenced on 1 December 2024. It runs for 15 years until 30 November 2037. Made under the Public Service Obligations in Transport Regulations 2023, it designates LU, a wholly owned TfL subsidiary, as an internal operator. #Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a request regarding road conditions following the introduction of electric buses. The inquiry sought details on asphalt types in areas where roads have worsened, citing increased rutting seen in Birmingham. TfL confirmed it holds no information linking electric buses to greater road deterioration. The authority added that the choice of asphalt for any site is based on various engineering factors, and therefore it cannot provide specific details on which materials perform better under these conditions. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4232-2526
