🇮🇪 Ireland’s National #Transport Authority has launched an inclusivity campaign to promote #diversity across the Transport for #Ireland (TFI) public transport network. Building on previous anti-racism initiatives, the campaign presents public transport as a welcoming space for all passengers, regardless of background, identity or ability. Advertisements will appear on #buses, trams and #trains, as well as on social media, sharing the experiences of people who use public transport each day. Using the tagline “Transport for Ireland is Transport for you, transport for everyone”, the campaign highlights the role of public transport in connecting communities. NTA chief executive Anne Shaw said accessible and inclusive transport is a key priority, noting it provides essential access to education, employment and independence. She added that improving transport options can help remove barriers and support inclusion across society. The campaign will run for several weeks. https://www.transportforireland.ie/news/national-transport-authority-launches-inclusivity-campaign-to-promote-diversity-on-tfi-public-transport-network/

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has provided internal correspondence relating to a YouTube documentary on changes to the W12 and W14 bus routes. The correspondence, covering March 2025 to present, involves staff, management, bus operators, local councils, and external stakeholders. The video, which highlights the impact of route changes on the elderly, disabled people, and school children, prompted discussions within TfL about service adjustments. Some personal data has been redacted under data protection rules. The release confirms the information exists and is now available, with sensitive details removed in line with #UK GDPR and the FOI Act. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4315-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a Freedom of Information request about the Silvertown Tunnel Cycle Shuttle, a free service launched on 7 April 2025 to help cyclists cross the Thames. TfL said thousands have used the shuttle, but it does not record month-by-month usage. Instead, it carries out week-long counts at different times of the year as part of its monitoring approach. These figures are published in quarterly reports to the Silvertown Tunnel Implementation Group. TfL said the service is still relatively new and marketing campaigns are continuing to raise awareness, with the expectation that usage will grow as more cyclists learn about it. In response to questions on costs, TfL said it awarded a £1,967,010 contract to Stagecoach to operate the bus service for three years. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4374-2526

Central stations including Whitechapel, Liverpool Street (Elizabeth line), Farringdon, Tottenham Court Road and Bond Street are managed by London Underground. London Underground provides assistance across the station, while GTS staff assist on Elizabeth line platforms. #Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has provided its Uniform Specification in response to a FOI request. The guide details uniform requirements for staff and concession employees, including refreshed designs incorporating a new blue colour for visibility. Core principles emphasise professionalism, inclusivity with mixed sizing options, special measures for medical or faith needs, and sustainability via recycling of returned items. Must-wear items include shirts, trousers or skirts, shoes, and badges, with optional layers, outerwear, and accessories. Uniforms must be clean, worn correctly, and maintained according to care guidelines to ensure safety and professional presentation. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4318-2526

🚄🟠⦵ #Transport for #London (TfL), four west London boroughs and the Old Oak & Park Royal Development Corporation have agreed to invest up to £6.65m to progress the next stage of the proposed West London Orbital rail line. The project would use underused freight lines to link Hendon and Hounslow with a new London Overground route, providing up to six trains an hour and ten interchanges with rail and Underground services. Plans include four new stations at Old Oak Common Lane, Neasden, Harlesden and Lionel Road. The funding will support design work, modelling and public consultation ahead of a decision in 2027 on whether to seek statutory powers. Backers say the line could support more than 25,000 new homes and 11,500 jobs while improving links between growth areas including Brent Cross, Old Oak Common, Acton and Brentford. It would also strengthen access to the future Old Oak Common HS2 and Elizabeth line hub and could cut car journeys by about 650,000 a year. https://tfl-newsroom.prgloo.com/news/major-funding-deal-puts-london-overground-missing-link-on-track-for-next-phase

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a request for the Limehouse Station lease plan. TfL confirmed it does not hold a full lease plan, as the land is not owned by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Only the DLR viaduct structure, including piers, columns, concrete islands, and foundations, is included in the 200-year lease from Network Rail dated 30 April 1987. TfL provided a plan showing DLR-owned structures in turquoise and areas owned by TfL in green. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4337-2526

🇮🇪 The Government has launched two five-year plans aimed at reshaping Ireland’s #transport system. Announced by the Department of Transport, the Moving Together strategy and the Sustainable Mobility Policy (SMP) Action Plan 2026–2030 set out measures to tackle congestion, cut transport emissions and expand travel options nationwide. The SMP Action Plan contains 95 actions, including delivery of major public transport schemes such as #MetroLink, BusConnects and DART+, alongside investment in walking, cycling, shared mobility and rural connectivity. Moving Together focuses on cross-government action to reduce congestion and improve air quality, while supporting climate goals. The plans also back electric vehicle infrastructure and aim to balance the needs of commuters, businesses, rural communities and vulnerable road users, with annual progress reports promised. https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-transport/press-releases/government-launches-plans-for-transforming-irelands-transport-system-over-the-next-5-years/

In #Singapore, the Land #Transport Authority (LTA) will open Circle Line Stage 6 (CCL6), the Downtown Line 3 extension and Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 5 this year. CCL6, linking HarbourFront and Marina Bay, is due to open mid-year, with three more stations on TEL5 and DTL3e in the second half. The additions support the Land Transport Master Plan 2040 goal of eight in 10 households within a 10-minute walk of a station by the 2030s. On the Jurong Region Line, a new Tengah station, JS2A, will open in the mid-2030s, bringing the total to 25. Stage 1 will be delayed by six months to mid-2028 due to complex works, despite efforts to recover pandemic setbacks. Interim shuttle buses will start in late 2027. The Cross Island Line Phase 1 is on track for 2030, with Phase 2 and the Punggol Extension due in 2032. Phase 3 works begin next year. Studies for the Seletar Line, Tengah Line and a West Coast extension will start this year. https://www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltagov/en/newsroom/2026/3/news-releases/next-phase-of-rail-development.html

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has confirmed it does not employ any train drivers under the age of 20, despite last year’s change lowering the minimum age from 20 to 18 to help tackle staff shortages. In response to a Freedom of Information request, TfL said the youngest train operator currently in post is aged 23. The authority also stated it does not record applicants’ dates of birth at the application stage, meaning it cannot say whether any 18 or 19-year-olds have applied for driver roles. TfL reported that 288 train operator vacancies required filling across 2025. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4063-2526
