I keep seeing folks calling for a federal tax strike to starve Uncle Sam of funds in protest over its disastrous wars and profligate spending. Sadly, because the federal government only pretends that it's financed by taxation (in reality it simply changes numbers on spreadsheets!), if everyone stopped paying taxes this would accomplish nothing other than a severe loss of the dollar's value and runaway inflation.
Which ultimately, would only consolidate the power those with the deepest pockets.
