#WritersCoffeeClub 15 March: Talk about an experience you had sharing your writing with a group.

When I launched my book last year, I was working with a group called Artists Helping Artists. We met each week to help each other with a creative project and then presented a snippet of those works at an event. I read a collection of passages from my book to get people interested.

When I was done, the emcee said I had just successfully edged the entire audience. 😆

#PennedPossibilities 957 — Does your MC have or wear a signature colour?

Colour is an important detail in Crown of Horns. As Ishkara changes, so too do the the colours she wears and surrounds herself with. They tend to be cool, blues and purples, with Velodik (her ally) in green.

Conversely, Siranna and Kalrevi have warmer colours—red chief amongst them.

Also another place where my love of theatre bleeds through: costume design adds a lot to a character.

Trying to get going and do some work on my book has been more challenging than I expected today.

Reminder to be kind to myself.

Good news: I have gotten some editing done. I blew up some clunky paragraphs and I think the start of this chapter flows a lot better.

My partner told me I should try shopping where I can only buy things I know the Ukrainian word for. I realized I could actually get a decent amount of things if I tried this plan.

Although there are a lot of categorical things I could cheat with. “I got meat and vegetables!” 😆

Signage placement is important.

I briefly thought a tailor was offering laser and hypno therapy, but it was actually the place next door.

Like, I wouldn’t normally think to get my pants hemmed and undergo hypnosis at the same place, but it’s a wild world we live in and I don’t know what’s what anymore.

Snowing this morning. Not too cold out at least, which is good because I still have a broken coat.

I ended up deciding on getting a new one. It was on sale, and I honestly needed a size up anyway.

Off to get some blood work done before heading into the office. I have a physical in a few weeks, too. I will be so damn healthful. 😅

I think about that sweater a lot lately.

There was D&D! Had a lot of fun. Not super focused, but I think we all enjoyed ourselves.

Mostly a lot of figuring out next steps and then taking a step and figuring out next steps after that step. 😛

I really need to prep a good boss encounter. They’ve been chasing him down for a while and it’s time to start killing a guy!
