Inna sprawa, że jest "Witchhaven", a nie ma "Hexena", a na niego chętnie bym oddał głos; szczególnie, że remaster taki solidny. Ale spoko, zawsze będzie ktoś z bólem dupy, że nie ma jego gry. Taka natura plebiscytów.
(Jak będę miał handheld, który się da podpiąć do telewizora, to planuję szarpnąć się na "ChronoTrigger", nawiasem mówiąc.)

A story I heard somewhere (could have been in a penta-costal church).
There was a boy who would go to a beach every morning, to pick up starfish that were thrown to the shore by the tide, and threw them back into the sea. One day, a man saw him and said, "Why are you doing this? It doesn't change anything; they will be on the shore tomorrow just as well." The boy, unfazed, picked up another starfish, showed to the man, and said, "For this starfish, it does matter." And he threw it into the sea.

I think a lot of "Mastodon is difficult" comes from the fact that the vast majority of people came to Twitter when it was running for years and had most of its issues ironed out. The same people would bounced of from earlier Twitter just the same.

From Sociopath World, I remember something that really stuck with me: when someone close to you dies (including a pet), it is a horrible feeling, but over time, it tones down and — as I remembered it — "it feels a bit cruel and unfair" to that person. But life moves on. Either this or you get locked into this grief, which is never good.
I guess the trick is to, as someone presented it to me visually once, "REMEMBER, Remember, remember, but — differently, Differently, DIFFERENTLY."

To run it on Rocknix, I had to buy Pico-8, because they don't include it out-of-the-box. But, once I had it, I ran it on my computer, and it turned out to be way more funnier than I expected. I thought, well, okay, I can explore and play games through the website, right? Wrong! The fully integrated Splore makes the experience much more immerse. The start screen heavily reminds me of Commodore C-64. So much nostalgia (but, with much more responsive controls!).

@hongminhee On the other hand, due to accessibility and how screen readers operate, it is advised to put hashtags at the end of the post. There's even UI for that in Mastodon web client: those tags are excluded from the message and displayed underneath. So, there is a precedence in Latin-letter-based texts, too.

Also, it's not really AI, apparently, but more of an algorithm, which led someone to a hypothesis that the whole ruse was to satisfy (mostly crypto) investors. I'm still rather observing it, so we'll see, but BS devs started vibe-coding Bluesky, so this can take a sudden turn any time now.

@nowster @felwert @aral Alas, that's unavoidable. And Fedi is sometimes worse; if you happen to be on an instance defederated from some of the discussants, you have those empty spots. What Twitter got nice at some point, was showing placeholders for messages that you cannot see, either due to being blocked, blocking, muting, the message being behind the lock, or simply deleted. At least there was a visual cue.

@felwert @aral Seen alone, perhaps. The scenario I can see is this: they block people on Bluesky and by making their posts BS-only, they make sure that blockers cannot simply open a private tab and read them. A lot of visibility aspects on Mastodon were driven by these situations, too. That Bluesky allows only such a solution is not their fault.

@felwert@fedihum.org @aral@mastodon.ar.al On Mastodon, you can make a post "only for followers," and we're fine with it. I can imagine that a user can decide on his personal level not to share their post with the open web. That's their choice.
(Though, the funny part is that it's more like a flag, and respecting it depends completely on the app, so if there is more traction for Bluesky, apps going around that might start popping up. Same for blocks.)
