Last semester, I did a very basic introduction to digital research methods for religious studies. The idea was to learn a few basic tools and see what is possible in the space short before actually learning how to code. The course ended with a very small project students should carry out using a selection of the techniques they had learned. 1/

It’s here! We just launched the new website of the #DiGA Collection, a collection of Buddhist sculptures from the Dir Museum in Chakdara, Pakistan. This site was built using an experimental static site framework for #CulturalHeritage collections that I developed over the last months. It’s a first beta version, and it will serve as a foundation for future explorations. @aral This also seems to be a thing on Bsky, although there it’s opt-in. Which means that people actively decide to exclude people not on the same platform. Seems to be considered a feature, not a bug. 🤷

Sweden already dialed back technology use in school classrooms and apologized to the young generation affected by this in-the-wild experiment. I'm increasingly worried that the introduction of GenAI will have the same effect on university students and that we'll owe them an apology in a couple of years when the negative impact becomes apparent.

I am really interested in the linked.art initiative, but I’m finding it hard to wrap my head around it. What strikes me as particularly odd:
* The types-of-types pattern, which creates JSON structures that are very unlike usual JSON properties.
* The AATization of everything, including things like language tags, for which perfectly fine native RDF patterns exist.
Has anyone worked with it? Are there good Getting Started guides? #LinkedArt #CulturalHeritage
