The world should invalidate Donald Trump.

Stop giving him credit. Stop giving him his so-called dues. Refuse to meet with him. Stop taking his calls. Stop trying to work with him. Don’t acknowledge him, and don’t debate him.

The world should treat Donald Trump the same way it treats Kim Jong Un: like a child throwing temper tantrums that are best ignored.

This is actually why the Fediverse should embrace A.I. Because if someone really wanted to be an asshole, you would all be in trouble.

Let's assume — for "ha ha's" (laughs) — that this is true. Let's entertain the silly idea that a small group of people has decided to single me out on the Fediverse just for fun.

I spend 8–12 hours, sometimes 16 hours, each day on the Internet. Why? Because I am paid to be online — I work for Meta (Facebook). Even as I write out this thought experiment, even as I write this post, I am working and currently being paid. Then, add 2 more hours: before I clock into work, I like to spend about an hour catching up on what I've missed, plus another hour afterward to see what's happening outside Meta's ecosystem.

That means I am on the Internet — mostly because I'm being paid to be online — but ultimately for 10–14 hours a day, sometimes 18.

You do not have the time to keep up with me. I suspect that’s true for most people. You’d be playing a never-ending game of whack-a-mole against someone who has more time than you. And it’s not wasted time either — because, again, I’m being paid, even right now as you read this.

Without even meaning to, I will also outspend you. I am a generous individual — as I recently posted, I donate over $10,000 to open-source projects. It took one simple message to a developer to convince them to change their social media policy.

More time + more money = well… good luck keeping up. 🤣

Here is the hard truth — this will happen.

Why?

It’s state-sponsored. The United States government wants this to happen, and Google is more than happy to go along with it because it benefits them too.

I love that Vivaldi and others have signed a letter. I love that people have even created petitions against this. But we’re not the ones who will decide this future.

And this is why you should not trust Microsoft or any monopoly or oligopoly type corporation with your personal security (especially in the United States or Russia or China).

If you elect a Conservative Democrat, you still voted conservatively, and that is the problem. Not all Democrats are created equal.

I am not saying, “Do not vote Democrat.” I am saying we need to do more than that.

“Vote blue no matter who” is how we got here — and here is where I would rather not be. Who we vote for always matters, and people voting blindly tend to forget that fact.

We need to vote progressively, or we won’t be able to save ourselves. Yes, that often means voting Democrat, but not all Democrats are progressives.

If we cannot vote smart, we’re going to lose this country. It’s as simple as that.

Vote progressive in the midterms.

Yes, most of the time that means voting for Democrats, but not always. We need to vote smart — and voting smart is not blindly choosing someone just because they have a “D” next to their name.

Why?

If all we do is elect or re-elect corporate Democrats, we’ll once again be told that unity is more important than accountability. We will once again watch elected officials attempt to work with these pedophile Nazis.

We have to go left. We know that voting conservatively is harmful, and we know that voting for more of the same status quo does nothing to stop or prevent people like Trump from coming to power. If we’re going to save this country, we need to go left.

In one photo, from Facebook (my job, where I work), we had a woman claiming to be a 36-year-old mother of two children, ages 4 and 7. She spaced out the URL in her post, hoping it wouldn’t get flagged by spam filters (it did). The very next day, someone on the Fediverse posted the exact same message, with the same URL. The only differences were that they used a different name, a different profile photo, and claimed to be a 19-year-old girl.
