Anybody use a self hosted object storage solution that is S3 compatible?

Ones I'm pondering are MinIO or Garage.

Love it when Home Assistant and the house batteries conspire to flip me off.

I have a #homeassistant automation that is dependent upon the system knowing the state of #tado geofencing of "home" or "away".

Using the Tado API, Home Assistant can check the state of geofencing for each TRV in the house.

In recent months Tado has restricted the free use of their API. Resulting in periods of no data.

Last night one of those periods of no data coincided with when the automation was due to run, and thus failed when it couldn't get a value for the Tado mode.

My side of the bed was cold, but more importantly my wife's side was too.

Quick option seems to be to pay Tado for "Auto-Assist" and get a higher API request limit.

But I'm wondering if anybody else is in a similar situation and has worked around the limited API calls for free users?

Are the extra features of "Auto-Assist" worth paying for?

7 years ago today we had a bit of an accident when the 10-12mm guard was not put back on the hair trimmer.

Going back even further (7th January 2012)!

I sucked at keeping a journal at the best of times. Seems I haven't written anything in that book since 2021 :|

Reading these two entries makes me glad that I did write something occasionally.

Maybe I'll get back to it this year (no promises) and even play with fountain pens again.
