“Technik” / Technology
The “book train” at the 42nd Street branch of the New York Public Library — a conveyor system that runs on 950 feet of vertical and horizontal tracks to deliver books from the underground stacks to the Rose Main Reading Room on the top floor. Being a dumb non-German speaker, I assumed “Jalousie” meant jealousy and thought, “What a great interpretation — looking through a window at something you can’t have.” But it turns out it just means window blinds; I have a few photos of those!😅
