I'm far too tired and tipsy from a night of dancing, food, and wine at a surprise 70th birthday party for the wonderful man who runs karaoke in my condo village. Then, on the way out, we found an older gentleman sitting on the pavement. It was foggy and raining out. He was hit by a car. Not fun. He's okay, but sore. EMTs and police are there now and helping him. Anyway, I'm knackered. A lot's gone on tonight. We'll resume the #PennedPossibilities prompts tomorrow. x

For four days in a row now, I've posted something on AO3. I'm moving through my drafts, finishing up random bits, scenes, and stories, just completing, proofreading, editing, and posting them for friends. And doing commissioned stuff as well. It's been fun, honestly. I think I've needed a good distraction from the shit storm I've got going on in my life at the moment.

Good morning. I've taken my meds, showered, and I'm almost feeling slightly human after my infusion therapy yesterday. Just sore and achy, and very tired as well, but not nauseous at all or like I have a fever and a migraine to top things off. Those are my usual symptoms. In fact, I'm actually rather hungry. Tiny blessings.

@Firlefanz@writing.exchange Yes, yes, and yes. I do the same with mine. My wolves look like *actual* wolves as well, not the TV monsters. It's refreshing, isn't it? It's different and so much better. I don't know why more people don't write "wolf shifters" or any shifters that way. And with mine, "werewolf" is a derogatory word. Never say it. It's awful. They're just called wolves in the story. And pack dynamics are the best thing to write. I love it so much.

#WritersCoffeeClub 2.21 — Share an unexpected critique you’ve received. Why did it surprise you?
This is a *really* good prompt, but I can't think of anything in particular to write in response. I will say that I've had so much help from friends here on Mastodon in our writing community. Every little bit helps. However, I can't think of anything super surprising or unexpected. Whenever I've received a bit of help with that kind of thing, whenever I've gotten some critiques, it's because I've asked for it.
Edit: Something finally came to mind. Someone told me that I should change the way I write, but she didn't understand that the POV I use is actually a thing. She was very critical and confused. It actually almost had me changing the way I write. This happened years ago but it still kind of sticks with me, sometimes.
I enjoy writing either of these:
Third Person Omniscient POV: The narrator has full knowledge of all characters' thoughts, feelings, and the story's past and future, enabling a god-like perspective. While less common in modern novels, it is used in classic literature and genres requiring a broad narrative scope.
Multiple POVs: Involves shifting between different characters' perspectives, often across chapters or scenes. This approach allows for a broader story scope and deeper character development but requires careful structuring to avoid “head-hopping” and maintain reader clarity.

PSA time for everyone! On my profile, we now have two separate ways to access the #PennedPossibilities prompts for the community. If you're against Google, this might be a bit easier for you.
Not promising anything, just because I'm too knackered some nights to add them to a list, so it'll be done the next day. But I'm gonna try it. I hope this helps. Tons of people have been asking me for this. It'll be a ton of work, but I'm sure it's worth it.
