@HeliaXyana@mastodon.nl yeah, that's probably true. There can be such a push to make money from things no matter what, so it's understandable that people are reluctant to push something they don't like themselves. There are many ways to interpret "a book you don't care for." To me that wording doesn't suggest something you find repellent, but more like it's just not your thing. I'm not sure how other people took it, though. I'm very interested in how people think and communicate, and I try to learn from how people respond.

15 Is the time you've had for creativity this month what you expected?
I didn't expect to have much, but up until this weekend I've had even less than expected. I've managed to get quite a bit of creativity in this weekend, though, so maybe it balances out.

#WritersCoffeeClub 14. Do you think readers want new experiences in structure or narrative, or do they prefer what's familiar?
I don't feel like I have any sense at all of what readers want. My guess is they want novelty within a familiar structure. Don't just give us the same old thing, but don't leave us rudderless either.

Not effectively, no. I learned some rudimentary ASL through my job and can recognize some basic signs like toilet and thank you. At one point I knew the alphabet; I still remember some letters, but I've forgotten a lot since I don't use it often.

#ScribesAndMakers •1 How much time do you expect to have for creative work this month?
I've got some household projects cutting into my creative time. My wife and I are also going away for my birthday weekend, but it's very possible we'll do creative projects while we're away. I'm thinking a little less creative time than usual, but I'm sure I'll squeeze some in.

944. Have you ever written anything while inebriated that you later ended up keeping in your WIP?
I'm honestly not sure. Generally if I'm inebriated, it's because I'm trying to be social, not trying to be creative, so I don't think I've written all that much while inebriated. I can't rule it out, but there is nothing specific that comes to mind.

#ScribesAndMakers 28. How did your month go?
It went well. I sent a draft to my collaborator @johnyNocash@indiepocalypse.social and got back three songs.
My wife and I finished our first collaborative monster collage. It's very cool to have her making art because it's a new interest for her, and I love that we can do it together. Number two is under way, and she's got three independent side collage projects.
And we've restarted work on my other WIP that my wife was helping me with.
I've done some work on an alt cover for my published book.
Also did some drawing related to the current WIP and have some thoughts for a promo video.
And we had a nice celebratory month for SAM's first birthday.

@asakiyume@wandering.shop it's really interesting to see the different associations with the word! It seems to run from fun to gross, and I would say cute is closer to the fun end of the spectrum.
