I wonder what percent of people on Mastodon look at people's profiles before following/sending follow requests to them. I do it 100% of the time. I'd rather not follow someone than later unfollow them

I realised I had spent the whole time thinking about some school stuff and being emotionally separated from her ... it was a profound moment and at that point something snapped. But here goes... it seems to me that some on the so called left of politics are as extreme and ill thought out as those they accuse of similar evils. To my mind the #UnitedKingdom is in the #political equivalent of kindergarten. We desperately need strong, principled, honest leaders. I try to stay in my small corner because it is very sad to see what is happening to a country I love. Most of the people most of the time time are great. It's just that #politics is so, so lost

@TheZorse@hear-me.social I can't speak for other traditions but in Christian thought matter, the physical, is held very highly as a blessing and a good thing. Given this it strikes me that a natural extension is to speak of non material things in material terms. We do this all the time in physics eg wave/particle but then describe them via say probabilities. Ditto the on going debate over consciousness. Personally it seems to me that materialists miss out a whole dimension of reality just because they can't measure or bottle it. By doing so they inadvertently shut down a side of themselves. All very sad

@TheZorse@hear-me.social I get that. Why is always answered with another question. I feel like #physics doesn't explain, rather it describes. When I was doing my theology masters it was the same. Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions?
