Still playing with #OpenClaw. My PA is now summarizing the annoying WhatsApp groups for me and proposing calendar entries where needed. I can recommend running this on an isolated VPS (I use @hetzner@mastodon.hetzner.social). When it comes to models, I still haven't found a better balance than X.ai Grok 4.1 Fast. Not ready to spend 120 euros / month for stock monitoring and WhatsApp help. With little interaction I'm running at about 75M tokens a week! Happy to hear if others have better ideas when it comes to models.

@GuillaumeRossolini@infosec.exchange Thanks. I'm already using several. So the apps are not an issue, the is / OS is also fine. It's small things; sign in with Apple, lack of RCS iMessage bridge etc. But so far so good!

Just made the switch from iOS to Android. Not that I didn't have an Android phone, but as my main and only phone. Thought the world would want to know.

Really impressive with the fold, I like. The switch is easier than I expected, since all apps are either similar or I already switched to #selfhosted. #nextcloud #immich and #mailcow are awesome!

@jimmyb@selfhosted.cafe Got it working, but it's more issues after that. Plugin installation and permissions issues. Npm versions that can't be upgraded. Anyway, will try again one day when time allows.

@jimmyb@selfhosted.cafe Spent much more time than I wanted on this anyway, conclusion: get a vm and install there 😂 This thing wasn't made for Docker (yet).

@blackvoid@mastodon.social Feels like pretty basic stuff that's going wrong, like it's missing the fact it's building the container (so some dependencies won't be there), while that's not a real problem. Started editing .dockerignore (also required) and looking at the other files, but I guess I wait for now.

There's also the install-cli version, but that would still run as a user on the system, doesn't feel warm and cozy really. :)

Obviously had to get on the #clawdbot train, but failed at step 0: run the docker-setup.sh (tries to load some dependencies that would be unneeded but also unavailable at image build).

I kind of feel that just running the install script on my main hosting machine (outside docker) is not smart, so left to do: setup separate VM in public cloud to try this out?

No time, but still a new hobby: #meshcore :) Migrated my #meshtashtic nodes to the new thing. Even bought a P1 Pro for our summerhouse, see how far we can reach. Happen to have a mast in the garden, so should be able to get some height.

Long time #matrix user and admin here, but a bit disappointed with my recent admin struggles. I short, spent a lot of time troubleshooting why the new Element X client wouldn't sync on my #Synapse server.

After a long time and many discussions with both Grok and Gemini found out from the client side debug logs that the highest stream ID on the server was not able to get parsed in the Rust library the client was built with. In other words, my server was too old and had seen too many events. 1/3

If the task at hand is to write a PowerPoint about "soft" things because you're an engineer-that-became-manager, isn't it fantastic that you can procrastinate by updating your Mastodon instance to 4.5.1, which also requires a Postgres upgrade from v13 to v16? 😂

What I really appreciate from @cloudflare@noc.social is that they post detailed post-mortem reports that we can all learn from. Shit happens, even for the big guys. But kudos to them for being open about it and sharing their learnings.

Toch grappig hoe we een paar grote centrale spelers op het decentrale Internet nodig hebben om alles te laten werken schijnbaar.
