I cycle that way as often as I can (although it is way off my route) to spend some time with him
But he's often already getting the attention he wants from other people

Every day, when I arrive home, I give Max treats
So he's learned what time I get home and tends to be waiting for me. And he recognises the sound of my house keys and comes running (also useful when I want him to come inside)
Unfortunately, he's decided that, since he gets treats when I come home, he should also get treats when he comes home. So every time he comes in during the day, he expects treats
And he makes me feel so guilty for not always giving them

I sometimes see him on my cycle home from work. He's old and has an arthritic tail, but was still able to jump up onto my bike, and clamber onto the handlebars in order to headbutt me
He pushed his head against my forehead and stayed there. We stood like that for about 20 seconds - head to head, him on my handlebars
We must have looked quite odd

This morning I was given notice of redundancy - my last day is this Friday. The school I work for is closing my department
I’ve worked there for 15 years & the current teaching staff is the best I’ve ever seen. Just outrageously good teachers. Students love us. We absolutely rock
Unfortunately, management did their jobs really badly, so now teachers are unemployed (don’t worry - managers get to stay, phew!)

When I signed up 3 weeks ago, I joined a server without knowing what I was doing. Some have suggested that I might be better on another, but I am lost and confused
What are the benefits of moving? What are the benefits of staying?
And if I do move, where should I go? I know nothing - so your subjective recommendations & insights would be much appreciated
