The DOJ -- again, before Trump, not under him -- was famous for not bringing charges against defendants unless there was overwhelming proof of guilt and near-certainty that a jury would convict.
Biden's DOJ did not "go after" Trump, and it wasn't Biden's -- DOJ has always been independent, until Trump.
DOJ prosecutors brought charges against Trump after they amassed overwhelming proof of his guilt. He had illegally retained documents all over Mar-a-lago, denied he had them, and the FBI found them.
That's not "going after" someone, it's investigating a criminal and bringing charges when they're obviously guilty.

To be clear, I know your distinction between smog and fog is accurate - I just think the wrong word is used in the colloquial phrase "London Fog."
Per wikipedia, smog was coined in the early 20th c. particularly to describe a "pea soup fog" aka a "London particular" or "London Fog."

NPR's story on the newly released #epstein files that allege Trump raped a 14-year-old in 1983 does two important things that the NYT has bizzarely chosen not to do.
1) include a link to the pages (duh!)

2) check to see if that's all of them. (It's not; DOJ released 16 more pages, but 37 are still missing.)
The NYT was either grossly incompetent here, or actively trying to bury the story.

Under pressure (and a legal requirement), the Trump administration released FBI files on a woman who accused Trump and Epstein of raping her when she was a teenager (per NYT).
Journalists going through the big release of files noticed an index describing the pages, but the actual pages were missing.
The DOJ now claims that they were "mistakenly" marked as duplicates. As if pages alleging Trump raping teenagers were routine and common. Maybe they are?

Here's a tricky puzzle! This section of Greek text appeared in in the (Latin) Einsiedeln itinerary, Einsiedeln MS 326 (9th c.) amidst a bunch of Latin inscriptions and poems. It's Greek-ish, maybe Coptish, but we can't assume the scribe understood Greek as opposed to sort of drawing a picture of some Greek words. The word spacing seems off. Something about petra (either rock, or Peter, or both?) And what are the twisty Ys with a dot in the martini glass?
Something like maybe
"τον θεον λογον θενσε χρυσω

Uh, no. Roger Waters is a very problematic character at best, arguably anti-Semitic and certainly addled by fame, money and drugs.
The lack of effective limits on money is a huge problem in US politics but that's not why he won either time. Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton both had lots of money.

I love how coins circa 1st century BCE often had sad looking rulers, and in some cases (eg Bactrians) the rulers aged visibly and got old and saggy on their later coins.

The numbers almost don't matter (but they are 10 or more often 20 amps). The bigger point is that you WANT your circuit breakers to pop, that's what they're for -- to stop the whole business when the amperage surges too high. It will surge! And resetting the breaker is maybe annoying but a fire is much more annoying.

What estimates? $9 to $11 billion is absurdly low. NYC spent $3.9 billion in the last year; Portland Oregon spent $724 million. And neither city is anywhere close to providing housing for all of the homeless.
It's an extremely complex and difficult problem, and clickbait "solutions" aren't helping anyone.

Alexandra Petri's takedown of Melania (the movie) is brilliant. Lots of folks are roasting this weird doc, as they should, but Petri shows real human empathy for the incredibly damaged person who would spearhead this - and that empathy itself is the most brutal indictment possible of this fascist propaganda.
