Es ist zwar nicht #Diday, aber dennoch habe ich mein #ugreen DXP 2800 #NAS jetzt schön in Betrieb genommen. #Immich und #Jellyfin laufen schon. #Parachute holt gerade sämtliche #iCloud Dateien und Fotos auf das NAS. Für letzteres Danke an @bitsundso@mastodon.social (Wer genau von Euch weiß ich nicht mehr - Spende ist gerade raus und kommt nun unregelmäßig).

Meh. Seems our trusty old Synology NAS has developed a case of not booting up. Wasn't on my bingo card of things that had to go wrong now, but here we are.
And Synology has caught a severe case of late stage US capitalism it doesn't seem to be possible to just take the disks and put them in a newer unit as Synology now requires their own branded and expensive disks. Fucking fuck. We have backups, of course, but restoring somewhere is really annoying.

Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit den #nas von #ugreen? Ich möchte bzgl. des #diday meine #icloud nun endlich durch ein NAS ersetzen. Vor allem
Interessieren mich die Foto-Lösungen. Schön wäre, wenn es #Fotos, #dateien, #musik und 4K-#Filme händeln könnte. Ich glaube das DXP-2800 mit 2x 6TB würde erstmal reichen. Derzeit liegen 2TB in der iCloud. Wie sind eure Erfahrungen?

Ich bin wahrscheinlich richtig spaet dran damit... aber seit ein paar Wochen nutze ich #Paperless NGX auf meinem #NAS und das hat die Art und Weise, wie ich Dokumente verwalte, komplett veraendert.
Keine irre Ordnerstruktur mehr, ellenlange Filenames oder Tags. Einfach die Docs da rein und dank OCR rappelt die Volltextsuche in ms-Schnelle durch.
Absoluter Gamechanger!

does anyone know a website that has a good filter for searching PC/NAS cases?
the filter params should allow filtering for harddrive sizes and also understand combining them.
example: sometimes there is enough space for, lets say, 2x 2.5 and 2x 3.5 but when combining them the 3.5 would take space of one of the 2.5 😅 I need 2x 2.5 and min 2x 3.5
At the same time I want the physical size of the case not to exceed 230mm 🤓
