PSA: Remember to check yourself for ticks regularly! You can get them spending time outdoors. If you have pets, they can carry some in from the outdoors. I've seen ticks do their seeking thing from a dog's back because they were more interested in finding something with thinner or no fur. #CW picture of a tick Did you know ticks aren't insects? They are arachnids! Yesterday, I removed this one from just above my popliteal fossa (back of the knee). Usually I use some thread in a loop but it was in a really unfortunate spot and made it quite challenging. I did eventually use fine tipped tweezers to gently remove it. You can see its mouth parts still intact. I usually tuck my pants into my socks when walking outside, but sometimes I forget to do it before leaving the house and then do it mid walk. And sometimes my dogs act as unwitting transport carriers. They are on tick preventatives, and I do check them for ticks routinely. It's not suspicious at all that #Gmail is marking as spam the notifications people were sent about a class action settlement for which #Google is the defendant and liable to pay out proceeds. One would have thought the plaintiffs' lawyers would have included as a condition of the settlement Google's obligation to ensure that the email notifications did not get marked as spam. #PSA If you're an #Android user and you didn't get a notice a few weeks ago, check your Gmail spam folder. #classAction

In case people are suffering from search engines giving them crap results, just thought I would remind/introduce you to Boolean searching. I have used it since the 90s (was taught at high school) and always use it.

Free lesson 1

  • and - symbols Any word you type in a search bar is looked for. The fewer words you use, the better. Adding these symbols force the results to only show pages with/without those terms.

E.g. tutorial switch +2026 Should bring up any site with either first 2 words but they must include 2026

E.g. longlasting lipstick -revlon Should bring up any site with the first 2 words but nothing featuring revlon

Dang I never knew how important this was, but #PSA: never use tap water in an ultrasonic #humidifier. It aerosolizes every single component including minerals and treatment chemicals. Distilled water only.

There is currently a high risk your uploads will be nuked, shadowbanned or otherwise suppressed, given the recent FISHY #TikTok aquisition. Backup everything on international servers.
