Shingrix not only prevents shingles most of the time, but all of the most recent studies show it strongly reduces the chance of getting dementia, which is an excellent free gift from the scientists to the public. So go out & make sure you get vaxxed https://arstechnica.com/health/2026/02/could-a-vaccine-prevent-dementia-shingles-shot-data-only-getting-stronger/?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&utm_campaign=fark&ICID=ref_fark #stem #science #health #vaccine #cool

Fears of polio resurgence as US vaccine adviser questions need for childhood shots Survivors say US healthcare system not ready for new cases – ‘the only thing to fix polio is the polio vaccine’ This is all so unnecessary...polio cripples and kills. This current administration in Washington is determined to take us back to the past on everything. In my book, that makes him a murderer. #polio #vaccine #politics https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/feb/23/polio-vaccines-us

Interesting article about an interesting approach, but the pedant in me thinks that this is not a #vaccine in sense that we have understood #vaccines so far? https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aea1260

In the UK, 249 individuals received compensation for harm caused by #COVID19 #vaccines. Given that more than 50 million people were vaccinated, this reflects about 0.0005% of the population and appears not to be an unrealistic number. #vaccination #vaccine https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yrvyv4zlzo

Idiocracy 🤬🤬🤬 FDA declines to review Moderna application for new #mRNA flu #vaccine “US regulators will not review #Moderna’s request to license a new, potentially more effective #Flu shot – even though the US Food and Drug Administration (#FDA) previously gave the green light to the project – in a decision that could have implications for all new and updated vaccines in the US.” https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/feb/10/fda-moderna-flu-vaccine
