Stando alle fonti Trump ha discusso l'idea di schierare truppe di terra con i suoi collaboratori e funzionari repubblicani fuori dalla Casa Bianca, delineando allo stesso tempo la sua visione di un Iran postbellico in cui l'uranio iraniano sia sicuro e che gli Stati Uniti e un nuovo regime iraniano cooperino nella produzione di petrolio, in modo simile a come stanno facendo Washington e il Venezuela.  I commenti del presidente, che esprimono un serio interesse per l'invio di truppe di terra, non si sono concentrati su un'invasione terrestre su larga scala dell'Iran, quanto sull'idea di un piccolo contingente di truppe statunitensi da utilizzare per specifici scopi strategici. Le fonti hanno aggiunto che Trump non ha preso alcuna decisione né impartito ordini relativi alle truppe di terra. Es sollte spätestens jetzt sollte allen klar sein, dass das #Völkerrecht ein Papiertiger und Machtinstrument ist, um den #Imperialismus anderer zu delegitimieren und den eigenen durchzusetzen. Ein Recht muss "ins Recht" gesetzt werden und wenn du (die USA) die Instanz bist, die das tut, dann gilt es für dich nunmal nicht. Al Jazeera commentators talking about the sequence of invading #Venezuela and now #Iran indicates that #Trump wants to stop #oil flowing to #China. That makes more sense geopolitically than claims that the attacks are a designed distraction from #Epstein (which has had relatively little traction in the #US like it has in #Europe).
