@epicdemiologist @NudelnAlDente I can understand the restaurant. There’s inconsiderate types who make advance reservations at five or six places and then see what their mood is come dinner. They don’t bother to cancel the other restaurants. Result is that those may have turned away other customers. Asking for a phone number allows them at least to call like “Hey, you’re 30 mins late, should we still hold the table?”. Also, not being anonymous is a bit of a deterrent from being a selfish prick.

@RoosVonk Het lijkt er voor mij meer op dat Jetten en Bontenbal Yeşilgöz in de tang hebben. De VVD zal door de knieën moeten. De Kamer schiet alle VVD-lievelingsbezuinigingen af en als Yeşilgöz het kabinet hierop laat vallen, dan moet ze de verkiezingen in én als breker én als partij die asociale bezuinigingen verkoos boven het belasten van de rijken. Dan legt ze het af tegen JA21 en Markuszower aan de ene kant en Klaver aan de andere kant.

Ik denk dat dit ook precies het plan van Jetten was.

@mattwilcox It’s also not bad if you’re one of the dinosaurs that does have senior skills. Man, we’re going to be in such demand to clean up the mess that AI will make.

Another consequence: once the junior->senior pipeline has dried up and the seniors have withdrawn, there will be no innovation for AI to leech off of. Innovation will stall and we’ll end up with a blotchy remixed goop of everything that has gone before. Blandness rule! Regression to the mean for all!

@anneschuth Zo herkenbaar, in mijn geval vanuit een commerciële NV. Het is echt niet alleen de overheid die hiermee kampt.

Maar om het even in geld uit te drukken: als je berekent wat het aan mensuren gekost heeft om alleen maar een datum—pardon: verwacht tijdsvenster—te krijgen, dan had je voor dat geld een jaar in AWS kunnen draaien.

@coreyspowell I wonder what would happen if their environment degraded if they chose to drive instead of walking. Take away a toy. Turn down the temperature. Remove nesting material. Give less food. Would they choose to walk? Would rats try to keep others from driving? Are rats smarter than humans?
