I was searching for a sling bag and suddenly got inundated by hyper-masculine “tactical” bags.
I can’t explain WTF is going on with the scale of the truck here. It doesn’t look right to me. He’s either tiny and/or standing in a hole next to a monster truck. Chad needs a stepladder not a handgun.

I like the Apple Watch a lot. I’m in a minority where I don’t want a new form factor—mainly because I don’t want them to break backwards compatibility with watch bands.
However, as long as Apple continues to put out such a bland selection of bands I’m not sure it matters. I’m so underwhelmed by the selection. Yes, I know there’s some pretty good third party ones, but the quality isn’t where I’d like them to be. I have a Nike sport loop they quit making & nothing compares.
And don’t get me started on watch faces. Ugh.
I’m not going anywhere, but the Apple Watch band and face ecosystem needs an injection of *something*. Whimsy?

So much exploration as a teen using their software. AppleWorks and MacroWorks were my first introduction to scripting after cutting my teeth with BASIC. OMG! My coping strategies have all failed me and I’ve been late to a meeting (I set up and hosted!) a day late paying my health insurance and nearly forgot to update my payment method with Adobe (f’ me that's expensive!).
More accurately I've failed MY coping strategies by not properly creating calendar events and using my TickTick app correctly.
This might be a good day to quit dev work and go to the art museum and reset.

It isn’t like I was watching CBS Evening News or CNN anyway. I have not watched 60 Minutes regularly since I went to college in 1989. (It was part of our Sunday ritual growing up along with CBS Sunday Morning and Catholic Mass).
But I inherently trusted both news networks without thought. If I caught a snippet or headline I knew it was mostl likely solid and truthful.
No longer. The erosion of trust and truth is the point. They don’t care if you really believe their propaganda—they just want to ensure you disbelieve all news. There is no truth beyond what the State tells you there is.

I bailed on 1Password about a year ago for Apple’s Passwords. It isn’t a total solution because I like to have bank and credit card information stored on my devices in a secure vault. @jdmcg@mastodon.nz @KayseeColorado@universeodon.com This is the “Truman Sports Complex” which is where the World Cup games will be played in Kansas City (top football stadium, “Arrowhead” home of the KC Chiefs and Kaufman Stafoum, home of the Royals.).
The only saving grace is that the parking is for both stadiums when needed, but little commercial activity occurs around those stadiums connected to the games. No nightlife or game day activities. Just. Parking.

@dtm@mastodon.cc I wish I could respond to every one of dozens of texts I receive every month and have Schumer, Jeffries, et al read and understand our frustration. And then act accordingly. Do something, ANYTHING. It can be quixotic but gums up the works. Throw monkey wrenches in the gears. I don’t feel like they’re fighting. I don’t see them in Minneapolis at the protests. They’re not getting their hands dirty.
I’m exhausted by our weak, feckless Democratic leaders. I will get in line and vote as I always do, but millions won’t if they don’t start fighting harder.

I live in the Kansas City metro. KC will host six #2026WorldCup matches and be the basecamp for Algeria, Argentina, England, and The Netherlands. Additionally Austria, Curaçao, Ecuador, and Tunisia will visit to play matches.
I’m building a visitor’s guide to Kansas City with curated itineraries for half-day or day trips for those periods when fans or players are looking for local flavor of Kansas City.
Anyone here planning on braving our stupid government and visiting? (We’re sorry, honestly.) #worldcup #worldcup2026

@caseyliss@mastodon.social My background is pure nerd, but life got in the way between my early Apple II and Mac days, college Fortran, C, and Pascal classes and today. I never became a real full stack developer. I had a different career in agriculture for decades before retaining myself in graphic and UX design. I can think like a programmer but I’m really a designer.
Claude and ChatGPT have enabled me to take my ideas and turn them into actual apps. I don’t know if there’s an appropriate metaphor here. Am I cheating by using a laser printer and not carving my own letters out of lead?

@adgaps@mastodon.online In some ways it is my favorite Stephenson novel. I still like Diamond Age better but the world building in this one is so complete for me. Many cite Snow Crash as their favorite and it is one of those foundational sci-fi books that changed nerd culture forever. Big fan here.
