It's become a running gag at this point that whenever someone refers to things closing down ~2020, they are pretty vague about why, trusting that readers will infer the reason all on their own. And like, imagine if those allusions end up being the only surviving accounts of the COVID-19 lockdowns and future historians are left to speculate what the hell happened in 2020.

In this video it's specifically about how Animal Crossing have different kinds of music for different times of day and the variation over time, but there are also examples of musical traditions where a song or even a specific musical scale is associated with a particular time of day. (it might seem like a wild concept but like, this is basically what lullabies are if you think about it.)

It's maybe not my favorite type of concept album, but the type of concept album I'm most fascinated by are the ones where the concept clearly changed halfway through and the artist has to bullshit up some reason why the whole thing is part of the same concept.

It is a fun contrast to another kind of concept album I'm fascinated by, the ones everyone swears is a concept album but they can't actually tell you what the concept IS, there's just such a sense of thematic cohesion between otherwise unrelated songs.

One under-discussed aspect of identity are the "no but..."-s, like the things that after some soul-searching you decide don't apply to you, but the fact that you had to think about it indicates that there's not nothing there. Sometimes it's just straight-up denial, but sometimes it's more like "something is going on, not necessarily something we have a good label for, but something".

One furry phenomenon that I love is when a cartoon has exactly one cute anthropomorphic girl in it and she enters into the rotation of furry babes entirely disconnected from her original story. She probably have fans who couldn't tell you off the top of their head what any other character in her show is called.

It must be pretty funny from the other side of the coin too, you can tell if someone is a furry by which specific character they are intimately familiar with over any other.

You can probably tell with a fair degree of accuracy if someone is a furry based on which Animal Crossing villagers they can name off the top of their head. This one is particularly fun, they are all furry animals so you'd think the more they can name, the more of a furry they are, but if they can name exactly three villagers and they are Isabelle, Raymond and Ankha, then you Know...

If you are commissioning someone, don't be afraid to include some sort of visual reference, even if it's literally a stick figure drawing drawn on the back of a napkin or the digital equivalent thereof. Having any sort of visual reference helps a lot even if the finished art doesn't end up looking very much like it.
