@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us One budget line might be good enough- a less ambitious target to reflect the real size of the P2P market while still being enough to put the spooks up the Bond Market as to what'll happen if they don't behave.

Admittedly it's probably not large enough a market to fully neuter the bond markets as a threat, but you've got to start it somewhere, I guess.

The software I'd be working on was for predicting how much money companies would make if there was a war tomorrow.
I promptly asked to recall my application.

Dad used to work abroad a lot, in the US. Not 'never here' a lot, but certainly 'meaningful length of time' a lot. (He did, however, have it much easier than one of the US counterparts, who was stationed over here for an entire year straight), and naturally he'd like to bring me and Mum gifts back.

@geomannie@mastodon.scot How has the pound been trading in the same amount of time?
We saw a boost in the stock market after the Brexit referendum because while the pound tanked, that meant that you could buy the same share for fewer dollars, so US investors were prepared to pay what looked like high prices for British stocks.

If you don't like the individual the party you like has picked, then you can move your vote to the broadly-aligned alternative without necessarily letting their opposite in.

@Geri@mastodon.online Probably.
The thing with Judicial Review is that rather than a way of "frustrating" laws, letting judges write legislation or anything else the hard/far right accuse it of being, it's quality assurance, or bug testing. A chance to go "this new law won't work as it will break that existing law and needs rewriting" before they try and actually use the law and a case collapses because they didn't check it was consistent with everything else.
So yes, she could go back to the drawing board. And probably will, sadly.
