Sweet cicely (Myrrhis odorata) grows along the Dales' lanes and riverbanks. Crush the leaf, you'll smell aniseed. Historically used as a sweetener, a cough remedy, and even furniture polish.

A 90,000-year-old wolverine jawbone has been pulled out of a mud bucket at Stump Cross Caverns, North Yorkshire.
Volunteers from Craven Pothole Club spotted it during excavation of a cave first discovered by the Victorians. One large canine tooth still attached.
