Harry and Meghan furious over the latest royal biography: "Conspiracy theories" Harry and Meghan have accused Tom Bower, author of a new biography of the British royal family, of “conspiracy theory and melodrama.” In some extracts from the book, published by the Times, Bower claims that Queen Camilla confided to a friend that Meghan Markle had “brainwashed” Prince Harry. He also writes that Meghan became a “divisive element” and was seen by the Prince of Wales and Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, as a “threat.” A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stated that Bower “has long crossed the line between criticism and obsession.” In a statement released yesterday, the couple said: “This is a person who has publicly stated: ‘the monarchy effectively depends on the elimination of the Sussexes from our state’, a statement that speaks for itself.” “He has built his career by developing increasingly complex theories about people he does not know and has never met,” added Harry and Meghan, as reported by the BBC, “those interested in the facts will look elsewhere; those seeking conspiracy theories and absurd melodrama know exactly where to find him.” #Harry #Meghan #TomBower #British #Times #Bower #Camilla #MeghanMarkle #KateMiddleton #Wales #Sussexes https://www.iltempo.it/esteri/2026/03/15/news/principe-harry-e-meghan-markle-biografia-reale-teorie-del-complotto-william-kate-46816640/

So committed to Wales that Farage and ReformUK can't even be bothered to check they've spelt the Welsh correctly on their publicity. That's just the sort of attention to detail that we want from a party calling itself the government in waiting. Not Bloody Likely. #Farage #ReformUK #Wales https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/people-spot-major-blunder-nigel-33541385.amp

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Rail fares on #Transport for #Wales services will be frozen for a year from 1 March, the #Welsh Government has announced. Marking St David’s Day, First Minister Eluned Morgan said the move would give passengers certainty during the cost of living squeeze and help encourage rail travel. The freeze covers all TfW tickets, including advance singles, returns and tap in, tap out pay as you go, introduced outside London for the first time. Ministers said investment of £1.1bn in the Core Valleys Lines and South Wales #Metro, alongside £800m for new trains with 80% more capacity, had improved reliability and boosted passenger numbers. Transport Secretary Ken Skates said the freeze supports wider efforts to keep public transport affordable. https://www.gov.wales/freeze-tfw-rail-fares-next-year

Network Rider ticket prices will change from 1 March, with revised fares applying across South Wales. The tickets allow unlimited travel on most bus operators in the region, offering an option for journeys not covered by Cardiff Bus services, including commuting and leisure trips further afield. Prices for #Cardiff Bus-only tickets remain unchanged. The updated day fares are £10.50 for adults, £7.30 for children and £21 for a family ticket. #English or #Scottish concessionary card holders will pay £7.30 for a day ticket. Weekly fares will be £32.50 for adults and £22 for children and concessionary card holders. The operator says the tickets continue to provide value for multi-operator travel across South #Wales. https://www.cardiffbus.com/network-rider-price-revision

A new rail station at #Deeside Parkway is set to strengthen links between North East #Wales and Liverpool, improving access to Deeside Industrial Estate, one of Europe’s largest employment sites, and easing pressure on local roads. During a visit to the proposed site, Transport Secretary Ken Skates said the project forms part of a £14bn rail investment backed by the #Welsh Government and #UK Government. The station will enhance connections to Liverpool’s jobs and education centres, the Port of #Liverpool and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, supporting cross-border commuting and inward #investment. Planned for completion as early as 2027, the scheme will use a modular approach to speed up delivery. It is one of seven new stations proposed across Wales under a wider programme to improve sustainable transport in the region. https://www.gov.wales/new-deeside-station-bring-cross-border-boost

Eluned Morgan MS, First Minister, has published a written statement launching #Transport for Wales’s long-term rail plan, Today, Tomorrow, Together: A vision for rail across Wales and Borders, on 18 February 2026. Backed by both #Welsh and #UK Governments, the £14bn programme aims to transform #travel, connect communities and boost the #economy, covering both devolved and non-devolved networks. Building on previous investments—including £1.1bn to upgrade the Core Valley Lines and £800m for a new train fleet—the plan follows the UK Government’s £445m rail commitment. The First Minister says passenger satisfaction and demand are already rising, with the statement marking a major step in the next chapter for rail in #Wales. https://www.gov.wales/written-statement-vision-rail-across-wales-and-borders

Great Western #Railway has launched a new campaign celebrating the myths and legends of the South West and #Wales, featuring the Famous Five on a quest to find a dragon reportedly seen flying across the region. The 60-second film, directed by Oscar and BAFTA winner Peter Baynton, follows the group as they travel from #Cardiff to #Penzance, with landmarks including Cardiff Castle featured. Inspired by GWR’s 1920s tourism posters, the campaign revisits regional folklore to encourage leisure travel. It runs across cinema, television, radio, outdoor and digital platforms until 5 April. The Famous Five ‘Adventures Start Here’ campaign began in 2017 and recently won APG’s Long Term Thinking award. https://news.gwr.com/news/famous-five-chase-dragon-across-the-south-west-and-wales-in-new-gwr-campaign

Foreign money will be barred from influencing #UK elections under the Representation of the People Bill, introduced to Parliament today. The legislation tightens rules on political donations, requiring companies to prove a genuine UK link and sufficient revenue, alongside new “Know Your Donor” checks and stricter oversight of unincorporated associations. The Electoral Commission will gain stronger enforcement powers, including fines of up to £500,000. The Bill also extends voting rights to 16- and 17-year-olds in all UK elections, bringing the system into line with #Scotland and #Wales. Ministers say the reforms will strengthen transparency, deter foreign interference and protect candidates and staff from intimidation. Pilot schemes in 2026 will test more flexible polling locations, such as supermarkets and train stations, to improve access. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tougher-rules-on-political-interference-to-keep-uk-elections-secure

In Welsh mythology, the woman Blodeuwedd was created from the flowers of the broom, meadowsweet, and oak by the wizard Gwydion to marry his ward Lleu. However, Blodeuwedd fell in love with Gronw and tried to murder Lleu. As a punishment, Gwydion transformed her into the first owl. 🎨 Yuri Leitch #MythologyMonday #Mythology #Folklore #Wales #Celtic #Bird #Owl #Mabinogion #Mabinogi

The #Welsh Ministers have a duty under the #Railways Act 1993 to ensure continuity of Wales-only and Welsh components of rail services. Acting as agent for the UK Government, they also oversee English components. The Cabinet Secretary for #Transport and North #Wales and UK Ministers have approved a public sector rail services agreement with Transport for Wales Rail Ltd, alongside necessary agreements with the #UK Government. Effective from 1 February 2026, the flexible agreement builds on over £1bn of investment in the Core Valley Lines, new trains, increased capacity, and performance improvements across Wales and the Borders. https://www.gov.wales/written-statement-new-rail-services-agreement-secretary-state-agreements

Wales’ Bus Services (Wales) Bill has received Royal Assent, becoming law. The legislation aims to reform how local bus services are planned and delivered, giving passengers a greater voice and strengthening the public sector’s role. First Minister Eluned Morgan said it was a “historic day” for public #transport, highlighting buses as lifelines connecting communities. Cabinet Secretary Ken Skates described it as the start of a “new era” of improvements. Rollout will begin in Southwest #Wales in 2027, followed by North Wales (2028), Southeast Wales (2029) and Mid Wales (2030). https://www.gov.wales/wales-bus-services-wales-bill-becomes-law

Ahead of commemorations and the unveiling of a bicentenary plaque, #Transport and North #Wales Cabinet Secretary Ken Skates paid tribute to engineer Thomas Telford, who designed the bridge, transforming North Wales’ economy and society. Skates highlighted the bridge’s role as a lifeline, strategic gateway, and landmark, praising generations of engineers and workers who have maintained it.
