In the 1990s I was using GPS to map vegetation in my job, rarely did I not get at least one satellite.
Coverage is dependent on orbital routes of the satellites, not the number of them.

@davidho.bsky.social As an environemental scientist it is a weird comment to think that a piece of land that can't grow crops can simply be used for livestock. It is being used by wildlife...it could be an important watershed that would degrade if livestock were premitted. It could be important for timber management. And then there's carbon sequestering, leaving it alone.
I understand the social and cultural impacts on food choices. Utilizing almost half of all grains grown in the US for livestock feed is probably not one of them.
