Court orders ICE to justify arrest of Nashville journalist

Estefany Maria Rodríguez Florez, whose job with the Spanish-language outlet Nashville Noticias has included critical reporting of ICE activities, was detained Wednesday by ICE agents as she rode in a vehicle marked with the media outlet’s logo. Rodríguez had reported on ICE abductions/detentions in Nashville as recently as the day before her own arrest... Her attorneys wrote in court filings Friday that Rodríguez’ arrest, denial of bond and swift transfer to an Alabama detention center “indicated retaliation against Rodríguez in violation of the First Amendment due to her work as a journalist, including reporting on ICE.”

Former Google Reader user. Now I use the free web version of Feedly for a small-moderate number of news/content sources. It turns an indigestible morass into a useful list for me, visually scannable. YMMV. My currently preferred browser @zenbrowser@floss.social, a security/speed/customization focused Firefox variant, has just added RSS tabs to its latest version. Nice, although it's a lot of tabs.

My rating: Totally made up
Iran does not currently have a missile capable of reaching the U.S. mainland. A 2025 Defense Intelligence Agency report projected that, using current technological and resource capabilities, Iran could potentially develop a viable ICBM by 2035. That is *IF* the country suddenly right now chose to pursue one. It's a timeline which observers say does not in any way qualify as “soon.”
