@zkat @blogdiva Somewhere btw 40 and 50 is when most people start freaking out because kids are graduating high school, starting college, and OMG, maybe the first grandchild? If you've remained childless, then 60 is the hard number, because that's when your body starts breaking down.
P.S. I was probably breaking down before 60 but I spent my 60th birthday in the emergency room with something minor I'd never experienced before. Sigh.

Which reminds me of when I was living in Houston 30+ years ago, and the city recorded no felonies in a 24-hour period and it was big news, because there was a massive cold snap. So, you know, people who might commit crimes also stay home when the weather is bad.

I'm forced to use MS Outlook for my .gov e-mail account, and I'd call it the worst piece of software I've ever used except that I sometimes have to also use MS Teams. And every time I curse Outlook, I think, how does the agency even try to migrate to another platform when the contract expires?

Out #InlineSkating in #NYC Thursday evening and, oh, hey, street resurfacing season has begun. Encountered a couple streets in lower Manhattan (Ave A and lowermost Mott St.) that had been milled, with new asphalt probably not going down for another couple weeks.
This past winter did such a job on #NYC streets that I have been eagerly awaiting resurfacing. Really hoping NYC DOT will do Broadway near my apt as it's been 7.5 years since that bit was last done.

@angry_drunk @flargh Oooh, the only reason my hometown was not 80% Mormon was that the govt built a nuclear reactor testing station nearby. (Dad was a physicist, so guess why we were there.) High school elections were always a wonder.
